ANUTOOSHKIN, Olga Anutooshkin
June 6, 1937 - July 27, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Olga Anutooshkin, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side onΒ July 27, 2026, at Cottonwoods Extended Care in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 89.
Olga was born on June 6, 1937, in Glade, British Columbia, to Alex and Tina Malahoff. She began her career as a nurse before dedicating herself to raising her family as a stay-at-home mother. Once her children were grown, she returned to the workforce, where she worked for many years at Woolco, later Walmart. Olga also dedicated her time to volunteering at the Kelowna General Hospital Perking Lot.
Above all, Olga was unapologetically herself. Outspoken, spirited, and wonderfully unpredictable, she spoke her mind without hesitation and rarely worried about how her words might be received. It was a quality that made her unforgettable and deeply genuine. She had a remarkable zest for life and was always busyβtending to her expansive garden, sewing, curling, singing, and keeping active. But when her grandchildren arrived, everything changed. Becoming a Baba was the role she cherished most. She was there for every milestone, every celebration, and every opportunity to spend time with her familyβwhether she had been invited or not.
Olga will be remembered for her generosity, her fierce determination, her unwavering love for her family, and a sense of humour that remained with her until her final days. Her presence filled every room, and her love left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
Olga leaves behind her beloved husband of 64 years, Peter Anutooshkin; her children, Charlene (Thorsten) Wehrmann and Corrie (Diane) Anutooshkin; her cherished grandchildren, Rachel Wehrmann, Kristi (Luke) Wilson, and Kaitlyn Anutooshkin (Dr. Brian Hayes); her treasured great-grandchildren, Jonah Rhodes and Jax Wylde; and her siblings, Peter (Martha) Malahoff and Tina Kristiansen.
She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Tina and JohnΒ Swetlikoff, and her brothers, Alex Malahoff and Andy Malahoff.
Though she is no longer with us, Olgaβs strength, laughter, honesty, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Memorial Service will be held onΒ Monday, August 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM (PDT), at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.Β Β A reception will be held following the service in the Springfield Funeral Home where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Olgaβs life.
