It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Philomena Augustine, who left us peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, in London, Ontario, at the age of 84.
Born on June 13, 1940, in Bangalore, India, Alice was the last surviving child of ten born to Anthony and Mary Pinto.
In 1969, she courageously moved to Canada to begin a new chapter, dedicating her professional life to nursing at London Health Sciences Centre in the labour and delivery ward.
Alice’s faith was the foundation of her life. A devout Catholic, she found joy and strength in prayer, the sacraments, and her beloved church community.
She expressed her love most tangibly through cooking and feeding others, sharing her care and warmth through lovingly prepared meals.
Alice also loved her garden — a peaceful place of prayer and reflection — and was a spirited fan of the Montreal Canadiens.
Her playful nature and generous heart will be missed by many.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Joe Augustine; her beloved son Andrew and his wife Tomoko; and her treasured grandchildren, Alex, Nicky, and Max.
Though she was the last of her siblings, Alice’s heart held the memory of each of them.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London.
A reception will follow at the Grand Theatre London (Developers Rehearsal Hall), 471 Richmond Street. Please enter through the stage door on Dufferin Street.
