Peacefully passed at the Georgian Bay General Hospital on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the age of 77. Beloved husband of the late Dianne Balk and the late Nancy Black. Loving father of Jason (Heather) and proud grandfather of Aiden and Tanner. Dear brother of Anne, John, Cathy, Lia, Teresa, Bonnie, and the late Mary and Liz.

Born in Holland and raised near Barrie, Ontario, Case served 20 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. After his service, he enjoyed life to its fullest in Collingwood, Barrie, Mississauga, Woodstock, and Midland. He exemplified honesty, integrity, loyalty, a strong work ethic, compassion, and love. Of all his accomplishments, none meant more to him than his family.

Hiking was one of his passions, with the highlight being summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro at age 59. He will be missed by extended family members and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. Interment will follow on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Case’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County.
