BARNETT, Jacqueline Joyce Barnett

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing ofΒ Jacqueline Joyce Barnett, affectionately known as “Jackie,” who was called home by the Lord onΒ June 19, 2026, at the age ofΒ 63.

Born on May 23, 1963, inΒ St. Ann, Jamaica, Jackie was the beloved daughter ofΒ Minion and Ashman Barnett. She was a longtime resident ofΒ Golden Grove, St. Ann, and laterΒ Central Village, St. Catherine, Jamaica, where she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of many. She spent many years between Jamaica and Canada supporting her children in anyway that she could.

Jackie was a devoted mother to her three cherished daughters,Β Tamar (O’Neil), Carrol (Wayne),Β andΒ Patrice (Jon). She was a proud and loving grandmother toΒ Taliyah, Isabella (“Bella”), AzariahΒ andΒ Aniyah, and who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She also leaves behind her beloved sons-in-law, Jon and Wayne.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother,Β Orville, and her sister,Β Marva; her aunts and uncles; as well as her many nieces, grandnieces, nephews, grandnephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing her. Jackie also shared three daughters with her former common-law partner,Β Patrick.

Throughout her working life, Jackie served as aΒ cashier, housekeeper, andΒ nursing assistant and occasionally exam invigilator. In every role, she was known for her hardworking nature, compassion, and willingness to help others.

More than anything, Jackie was deeply devoted to her Christian faith. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly and never hesitated to share God’s Word with anyone willing to listen. Her faith was the foundation of her life and a source of comfort and encouragement to those around her.

Jackie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, watching Nigerian movie, and tending to her garden. She possessed a generous heart, a caring spirit, and an encouraging word for everyone she met. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for family and friends will be remembered always.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the gift of Jackie’s life and the countless memories she leaves behind. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
