Mary Elizabeth (Koehler) Becker of Ayton passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Thursday, August 21, 2025 in her 89th year.

Wife of the late Allen Becker (1999). Mother of Gary & Nancy Becker, and Warren & Marian Becker, all of Normanby Township, Bonnie & Brian Becker of Moltke, and Joan and Mark Diemert of Parkhill.

Remembered by her grandchildren Heather & Mike Grenville, Crystal & Mike Turner, Philip Becker, Tracy Becker & Kyle Foster, David & Shalyn Becker, Nathan & Samantha Becker, Alayna Becker & Ashley Bilodeau, Nelson & Megan Becker, Nevinn Becker & Teagan Smith, Ben Becker, Brock & Ashley Becker, Brittney & Neil Bott, Curtis Diemert & Megan Romphf, Greg Diemert & Olivia Arrand, and Eric & Hannah Diemert; and by her great-grandchildren Drew, Brynne, Blake, Lucan, Avery, Jacob, Mason, Tinan, Aceyn, Raiden, Denaliyah, Colby, Hayden, Quinn, Austin, Hailey, Mya, Levi, Kayce, Jax, Tyson, Charlette, and Rownen. Sister-in-law of Jean Ersman and Shirley Becker.

Mary was predeceased by her great-granddaughter Luna, brother Gerald Koehler, sisters Jean Murray and husband Jack, and Myrtle Demerling and husband Brian, and by her parents Norman and Lillie (Dietz) Koehler.

Mary was a hard-working dairy farmer alongside of her husband Allen and their children. For 35 years, she was a committed school bus driver for Normanby Community School. Community was central to Mary. She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Women, Optimist Club, Recreation Committee, Red Hats, as well as the Senior Club of Ayton.

Additionally, Mary could also be found volunteering for worthwhile causes including the Heart and Stroke Society, Cancer Society together with helping out at the Breakfast Club of Normanby Community School.

Mary was always busy. You would find her knitting and quilting for family and area nursing homes, cooking and baking or gardening. Mary will be remembered for her quick wit, kindness, generosity, love of family and God.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston for visitation on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held from Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ayton, on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The service was recorded.
