BENNETT , Ross Bennett

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ross Martin Bennett on August 20, 2025, at the age of 46.

Ross was born in Grimsby, Ontario, and grew up in Beamsville. As a young man, he made Barrie his home, where he built a life rooted in learning, laughter, and adventure. He studied Marine Engine Mechanics at Georgian College and later transitioned to a career in real estate, becoming a licensed realtor.

Ross will be remembered for his sharp wit and warm sense of humor, which brought smiles and laughter to those lucky enough to know him. He embraced life with energy and curiosity. He loved snowmobiling in the winter and riding his RZ 350 motorcycle in summer. Ross loved the outdoors, he enjoyed boating on Little Lake and around Georgian Bay, watching live music, and cooking with friends and family. He had a genuine curiosity about other cultures and was always eager to learn, explore, and connect with people from all walks of life.

A classic rock fan, Ross could often be found with music playing, loud. He was famous among friends and family for playing the world’s largest air guitar, always with a grin and full commitment.

Ross also shared a special bond with his cherished Jack Russell, Riley, who was never far from his side.

He is survived by his loving mother, Susan Dodgson, and his siblings: Jacqui van der Beek, Steve Bennett, Sylvia Bennett, Lorraine Bennett, and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Bennett. He is also survived by his step father Dave Dodgson and step brothers: Mark Dodgson, Ross Dodgson, Scott Dodgson and Ian Dodgson.

Ross will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter echoed, and the adventures he inspired.

The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie for their kindness, professionalism, and support. The family is deeply grateful for the care provided.
