It is with sadness and love that we announce the passing of Albert James Berezowski, who died peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on May 20, 1939, in Toronto, Ontario, Albert was the son of the late Frank and Lena Berezowski. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rozelle Berezowski, whose warmth and kindness touched many.
Albert proudly served with the Toronto Fire Department, retiring as Captain after a long and dedicated career protecting the lives of others. His service was marked by bravery, leadership, and a deep commitment to his community.
In his younger years, Albert was an accomplished trumpet player and a member of The Berezowski Brothers, a musical quartet formed with his brothers Ozzy, Leon, and Eddie. His love for music remained strong throughout his life.
Known for his big laugh, sharp sense of humour, and love of a good time, Albert was the life of every gathering. His annual Berezowski BBQs in Bobcaygeon were legendary – joy-filled summer traditions on his beautiful property that brought family and friends together year after year.
Albert was also a man of strong Christian faith, and his love for Jesus guided and grounded him. His faith gave him peace and purpose throughout his life.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Nadeen (Greg) Carriere, Nashelle (Michael) Barsky, and Timothy (Shelly) Berezowski, and his grandchildren: Michael, Raquel, Madison, Josiphine, Courtney, and Caleb. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Lily, James, Michael, Aaron, and Florence, as well as his stepchildren and step-grandchildren who remember him fondly.
A Celebration of Life will take place this September. Full details will be shared with family and friends in the coming weeks.
