BICKLE, William Ian Bickle

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Ian Bickle on Monday, April 6th, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Loving father of Allie and Ben Bickle, dear friend of Valerie Bickle, and cherished son of the late Maurice and Joy Bickle, Ian will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Ian was a dedicated General Motors employee for many years before his retirement. He was most at peace in the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching sunrises or sunsets by a campfire. He often spoke fondly of summers spent at Kushog Lake—memories he held close throughout his life. A talented artist, Ian had a gift for painting and loved creating portraits and landscapes for family and friends. He took special joy in teaching his daughter to paint, sharing both his skill and his love of art. Affectionately known as “Mr. Fix-It,” Ian was always ready to help. He found true satisfaction in problem-solving and was always just a phone call away for those in need. His love of golf, baseball, and hockey was something he proudly shared with his son, spending many meaningful moments watching and talking about the games together. Above all, Ian cherished being a father and wholeheartedly supported his children in everything they pursued. They were the center of his world, and they will miss him deeply.

A service for close family and friends will be held at 1pm on April 20th, 2026, at Ebenezer United Church in Courtice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
