It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Irene Boetto (nee Faulds). She passed away peacefully at the Margaret Bahen Hospice on June 13, 2025, at the age of 85.

Devoted, loving wife of the late John Boetto. Loving Mom to her daughter Laura (Mauro). Proud grandmother to her cherished Roberto, John, and sweet Grand-dog Ellie. Beloved big sister to Sylvia (Beverley). Predeceased by her parents Jack & Catherine Faulds, and her big brother Jack Faulds.

Irene was born in Ayr, Scotland, and immigrated to Canada with her family when she was 10 years old. She enjoyed a long successful career in real estate which came to an end as she decided to retire when her grandchildren were born. Family was always the centre of her world.

She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her generous nature, beautiful smile and sense of humour that would light up an entire room. With her profound love of animals, she often made her way to the animal shelter with extra towels, blankets and a little love to spread while she was there. Irene never missed an annual Christmas donation for all the animals she loved so much. She was always there for anyone in need, furry or human!

Irene’s family would like to thank all of the Earth Angels that work and volunteer at the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket, for all the wonderful care and support we have received throughout this tough time.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honour Irene are invited to make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Alliston Humane Society, or any animal rescue of your choice.
