BORDA, Margaret Borda

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Monday, December 15, 2025 in her 87th year. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family. Her family held a special place in her heart and she cherished family gatherings throughout the year. When she was younger, Margaret loved to swim and go boating, so much so her husband nicknamed her “fish”. Margaret and her sister Irene spent a lot of time together right up until the end cherishing their bond. They often went fishing, played bingo and made many trips to the casino. Margaret was an honest and hard worker; from working in factories to tobacco farms, she rarely missed a day’s work. She was very strong willed and once she had something set in her mind there wasn’t a soul who was able to change it. Margaret had many hobbies such as watching her family play sports and even loved watching her grand dogs do agility competitions. Another favourite pastime of hers was watching movies on her VCR, some of her favourites included Dirty Dancing, Tom Cruise movies and Elvis. She happily followed her grandchildren and great grandchildren on Facebook despite struggling with technology. She enjoyed dancing at weddings and company Christmas parties and was always the life of the party. Margaret was a great cook and her food was loved by many. “Surf and Turf” was her favourite meal to enjoy surrounded by those she held dear. Former Margaret Katherine Vajtku. Beloved and faithful wife of the Late Steve Borda Sr. (1986). Loving mother of Cheryl Borda and Steve Borda (Patti). Cherished “Rockstar” grandma of Jeremy (Annie), Cody (Erin) and Jazmyn (Vinnie) and great grandmother of Mason, Charlotte, Eliza and Madelyn. Dearest sister of Irene Faludi. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in laws. Predeceased by her brother John Vajtku (1987) and by her nephews, Gary Faludi (2008) and Kenneth Vajtku (2017). As per Margaret’s wishes, a Private Celebration of Life will be held with Inurnment in the Delhi Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Charity of your choice can be made through the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
