BOWERS, Marilyn Jean Bowers

Peacefully on April 28, 2026, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Bert Bowers for 56 years. Loving mother to John and Brian. Cherished grandmother of Zoey. Sister to Harry and predeceased sister Ann.

Marilyn Jean Bowers was a domestic engineer and a lifelong volunteer with the Girl Guides, having achieved her 65 years of service in 2024. She also volunteered in many capacities with St. George’s church in Oshawa, with the Literacy Council of Ontario, and in many other capacities. Her life was one of serving the greater good. She was also an avid swimmer, loved to travel, and loved to play Euchre.

Visitation will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J 2L4 (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, May 6, from 1:00 pm until the funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery 21 Garrard Rd, Whitby, Ontario L1N 3K4 following chapel service. Reception to follow.
