BOWMAN, Nancy Booth Bowman
January 30, 1932 - October 2, 2025
She was born in Hamilton, Ontario January 30, 1932 to Agnes and Chris Bowman. She passed Thursday Oct 2 at the Peterborough Regional Health center. She was predeceased by brothers John and Chris Bowman. Nancy worked for a period of time at Stelco as a secretary. She married Thomas Theodore Booth who passed October 2019. They had two children, Susan Nancy Booth (Mike Smith) and David Theodore Booth, father to Rachel and Charlotte (Peter Manser). Nancy and Ted raised their children in Stoney Creek on James Avenue. Her chocolate chip cookies were well known to the neighborhood.
Nancy was involved in various activities such as archery, sailing, the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club and volunteered at Red Cross Blood donation drives in Hamilton.
Nancy and Ted spent their retirement years briefly in Stoney Creek then moved to Dummer Lake outside Lakefield to spend more time with family and grandchildren, watch nature -particularly hummingbirds and eagles. She volunteered at the Church Shed Market in the book department for the United Church on Stoney Lake Rd. They vacationed in Florida during the winter. In the later years they moved once again to Chartwell Jackson Creek Retirement Residence in Peterborough. Nancy was active at Jackson Creek with outings, BINGO and watching nature as she walked around the building by the creek. She referred to the Maple Leafs as “her Leafs” and loved the Blue Jays.
In accordance with her wishes, ashes will be scattered, joining her parents overlooking Hamilton Bay.
