BOYTER, Alexander Wood Boyter

Died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 90. Alex, of Wasaga Beach, was the beloved husband of Lois (née Allan) for just shy of 67 years. Loving father of Wendy (Neil), Tom, and Janette (D’Arcy). Cherished grandfather of the late Justin, Bhrett, Dominic (Ashley), Tylar, Rileigh (Darren), Berlynn (Christian), Halcyon, and Liam. Treasured companion to his “Pal,” Benny. Lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law John Allan, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends both in Canada and abroad.

Alex was born in Pittenweem, Scotland, on October 3, 1935, the youngest of seven children born to David and Jean Boyter. Affectionately known as the “Chieftain” by the Boyter clan, he carried his Scottish roots with pride throughout his life. A veteran of the British Army, he served during the Korean War before immigrating to Canada in November 1966.

He was a long-time employee of Labatt’s Brewery, a man who loved to sing with his guitar, and someone whose sense of humour could have anyone doubled over in laughter. His strong faith and deep devotion to family were evident to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Friends are invited to join the family at Carruthers & Davidson – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Saturday, February 21, 2026 for visitation from 2 p.m. for the memorial service in the chapel at 3 p.m. with Rev.
