He Of Nairn Centre passed away on March 13, 2026, at Health Sciences North, at the age of 66. A lifelong jokester, Deniel would likely be amused that his final punchline happened to fall on Friday the 13th.
Deniel Brown is Dear son of Denzil & Dorothy Brown.
Beloved husband of Helena (nee Tuoreslampi) who he nicknamed “Mama Bear”.
Cherished father to Andrew (Jenny) of Spanish and the late Andrea (2007).
Loving G-Paw to Richard, Denzil & Nayomi. There was absolutely nothing “grumpy gramps” loved more than to watch his grandkids get a partridge when they went hunting
Dear—and only— son in law to Antti & late Pirkko “Chief” (2019) Tuoreslampi.
Loving brother to many siblings.
Will also be missed by many friends and relatives.
We lost a big man with a big heart. He loved the outdoors — whether he was out fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying nature. But more than anything, he was a true jokester. He had a joke for everything, all the time. Sometimes it was almost annoying how he could turn any moment into a punchline, but that was just who he was. His humor was constant, unforgettable, and it’s exactly what he’ll always be known for. His family will forever chuckle when they think about the countless jokes he told — even the ones that made them roll their eyes. Because as much of a pain as his teasing could sometimes be, they would give anything to hear just one more.
You never left a visit with him hungry. He had a big love for good food, especially a perfectly cooked deer steak or a lobster dinner. Sharing a meal was one of his favorite ways to bring people together, and there was always plenty to go around. Whether you stopped by for a quick visit or stayed a while, he made sure everyone was well fed and felt at home.
