BUCHAN, Lloyd Buchan
April 24, 1942 - March 3, 2026Unexpectedly at Hamilton General Hospital on March 3, 2026, in his 84th year, Lloyd Buchan passed away.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 16 years, Pat Gillis-Buchan (nΓ©e Dudney). He was predeceased by his first wife, Beatrice, in 2008.
Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his children Debbie (Tom), Ron (Sheila), Cynthia (Nelson), Mark (Laura), Blair (Laura), Chris (Deborah), David (Erin), Lori Ann (Kirk), and Pamela (Rick). He also leaves behind more than 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lloyd is also survived by his brother Donald. He will be missed and fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.
Lloydβs family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton General Hospital, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, and his family doctor, Dr. Jason Profetto, for their care and compassion.
Lloyd was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #16421 and truly epitomized the role of βMen on a Mission.β Lloyd helped Catholic men become better husbands, fathers, and men by deepening their relationship with God, putting their faith into action, and leading and protecting their families.
Visitation will take place at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville, on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00β7:00 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 6:15 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, Smithville, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek.
