CONNOLLY, Jackie Jack Edwin Connolly
July 22, 1933 - September 25, 2025
Passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital in Peterborough on September 25, 2025.
Born in Kingston on July 22, 1933, Jack was predeceased by his son, Neil Connolly, in June 2023. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Connolly; daughter Julie Connolly and her spouse, Brian Edwards, of Peterborough; grandson Dane Clark and his wife, Linsey Stewart, of Toronto; granddaughter Laurel Clark of New Zealand and her children, Aria (10) and Jethro (6); Mallorie Meldrum of Dunnville and her children, Grady (16) and Everley (11); and granddaughter Sarah Edwards of Toronto.
Jack began his career with BP Gas before moving into the insurance industry, where he held leadership roles with Co-operators, Manulife, and Dominion. As a Chartered Life Underwriter and branch manager, he was recognized for his outstanding achievements. He also served proudly on the boards of the Peterborough Museum & Archives and the Peterborough Credit Union for several years.
Beyond his professional life, Jack had a love for genealogy, billiards, darts, basketball, cars, and cookies. He cherished family travels to Bermuda, the Bahamas, and Cape Cod, and he never lost his quick wit or his remarkable memory for days gone by. Though quiet by nature, he loved to share a good tale – often so convincingly told that you might just believe every word.
Jack lived without fanfare but left a lasting impression through his dry humour, steadfast presence, and fond recall of days gone by.
His family will forever carry his stories, his warmth, and his love.
A private family service will be held at Little Lake Cemetery.
