Karen Anne Crossman

June 4, 1955 – October 7, 2025

Karen Anne Crossman June 4 1955 October 7 2025

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Karen at the Sault Area Hospital on October 7th, 2025, at the age of 70.

Cherished daughter of Gwen Wolowich and the late Walter Wolowich.

Beloved mother of Jeffrey Crossman, Mischa Crossman (Jacob Hodgins), late Jamie, and Gregory Crossman. Grandmother to Trent and Isabelle.

Much loved sister to Ron Wolowich (Debra), Patty Poirier (Reg), Leanne Schmid (Terry), Dawn Kuhlenbaumer (Roger). Auntie to many nieces and nephews.

Karen’s early years were spent in the Sault where she created many happy moments as a Bawating Braves cheerleader. She mentored her 3 sisters to follow in her footsteps as cheerleaders. Her dedication to schoolwork led her to continue her education at York University where she achieved degrees in a B.A. with honours and a Major in Economics.

Throughout the years she developed great friendships and carried a great love for family. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Karen you are loved. May the winds carry you home and you rest easy among the angels. Your memory is forever in our hearts, gone but never forgotten.

Thank you to the first response team and the many skilled caregivers at the Sault Area Hospital.

Celebration of Life to be announced.

Donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated (payable online or by cheque).
