After a sudden car accident, in Brantford on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026 in his 72nd year. Richard Wayne Cummings, beloved husband of Elaine for 46 years. Loving father of Michelle & Jennifer (Rob Philp). Dear brother of Doug (Anna), Bob (Sheila), Kevin (Barb), and Wendy Perego (Ross). Rick is predeceased by his parents Don and June Cummings. Dear brother-in-law of Brent & Heather Robinson, Ricky & Tracey Lechner, Karen & Vaughn Wood, Patsy Robinson & Gary Deshevy and Joanne Robinson and predeceased by Michael, Neil & Rhonda. Special Godfather of Courtney Robinson-Totten. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and close friends in and around the community

Rick was a retired employee of Georgia Pacific for 40+ years, and a valued member of several sports groups including Hockey, Bowling, Baseball, and the fourth love of his life, GOLF. Rick was also a true Toronto Maple Leaf fan, decked out to the nines in Mapleleaf attire, hoping they would one day get it together.

Special thanks to the Brantford Police Dept, the BCHS Emergency Dept, and the first responders and public who first helped on the scene.

Family and friends will be received at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road North, Brantford on  Tuesday, March 31st, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Arnold Anderson Sports Fund or St. Pius X Parish would be gratefully appreciated.
