It is with heavy hearts that the Cybulski family announces the passing of a man who impacted the lives of many students in his 33 years of teaching, as well as those that he surrounded himself with.
Carl Cybulski, Carl Francis of Pembroke, Ontario, former teacher of Bishop Smith Catholic High School, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2026 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Joan Cybulski (nee O’Malley). Loving father of Todd Cybulski and Tara (Joe Crossman). Treasured Poppa of Abi and Jacob Crossman and many nieces and nephews.
Dear brother of Suzanne (Gary Coulas) of Almonte; Grace (Tim Brum) of Pembroke; and Clare (Bernie Buechman) of Pembroke.
Respected brother-in-law of Vicky Cybulski, Cobden, Teresa Bourne of Ottawa, Bernard O’Malley (Esther) of Eganville; Hughie O’Malley (Jeannette) of Barry’s Bay; Dan O’Malley (Patsy) of Barry’s Bay; Tim O’Malley (Madeline) of Ottawa; Faustina (Winfried Thiele) of Arnprior and Mary O’Malley of Kitchener.
Predeceased by his parents, Bronis and Florence (née Etmanski) Cybulski; his brother, Denis Cybulski; his brothers-in-law, Michael O’Malley, Gerard O’Malley, Mervin Bourne and Dave McIntyre and his sister-in-law, Helen McIntyre.
Known for his sharp wit and an even sharper casting arm, Carl lived a life defined by the belief that the best lessons aren’t always found in a textbook—sometimes, they’re found in the hills of Quadeville in a hunting stand or fishing on a quiet lake any time of the day. Carl was a man with unwavering confidence who was always willing to give you advice whether you asked for it or not.
Spring internment and Celebration of Life will be held at Our Lady of the Angels, Brudenell. As per expression of sympathy, donations to Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery Fund or the Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre would be appreciated.
