DAVIDSON, George Davidson

In loving memory, we commemorate the life of George Davidson, a devoted family man, and friend, who passed away peacefully at age 91 on July 1, 2026, atΒ  the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington.

Born on October 21, 1934, in Hamilton. George lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, and his compassion for people and life.

George was the cherished son of the late George and Ester, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his siblings Nathanial, David, Margaret, and James, with whom he shared a close-knit bond and many treasured memories.

In 1957, George married the love of his life, Margaret, embarking on a journey of 69 beautiful years together. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, built on mutual respect, laughter, and shared dreams. Together they built a family in daughter Susan, and son Scott (Heidi). George loved spending time with grandchildren Michael (Sabrina), and Kristen (Chris), and great-grandchildren Mitchell and Raelynn, and baby 3 on the way come October! George was also a close family friend of Elizabeth Nagy.

A dedicated professional, George devoted 40 years to the Hamilton Hydro Electric System (HHES), where his colleagues admired him for his integrity, and human touch for all he dealt with. Retiring in 1995, he left behind a legacy of excellence and camaraderie, fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside him. George also created a legacy of 2 hydro workers in his son and grandson.

George’s life will be celebrated on Friday July 10, 2026, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm (speeches at 2pm, livestreamed on the website) at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas. (additional parking at the Air Force Club). Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by George are invited to join in honouring a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Please come with a story of George to share with all. Please dress casually, this is not a formal attire event.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, a place of comfort and peace during George’s final day. His family extends their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff for their compassionate care and support.

Though George may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever be a guiding light in the lives of those he loved. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear George, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. What an incredible man, and life!

β€œMay the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand”
