DURSO, Philip Durso

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Philip. Phil, in his 81st year, passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret Durso (nee Allen), for more than 20 years. Dear brother of Donna Finn (Terry), and his late sister Lucille Schofield (Douglas). A cherished Uncle, Cousin, and Stepfather.

Phil was born on January 28, 1946 in Hamilton, Ontario to the late Marion J. Durso and the late Philip F. Durso. He enjoyed many years of hard work at Baycoat, Hamilton. When not working he loved the long drives to his beautiful home in Largo, Florida, where he spent time with Margaret, friends, and neighbours at the beach. To the outside world Philip was a quiet soul who cherished the comforts of his home. A true Italian he loved to cook especially his signature pasta sauce and his homemade sausage. He cherished all small dogs alike, as they reminded him of Mica; adoring Hunter and loved the attention from Bentley. Phil enjoyed watching many sports and collected sports memorabilia. He was an avid follower of NASCAR, and had a fascination with airplanes both new and vintage. Phil also loved music; some of his favorites included Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli and The Bee Gees.

Philip rest in peace and rise in glory.

A funeral service will be held at Grace Anglican Church, Waterdown. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made in Philip’s name to Grace Anglican Church, Waterdown. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
