ELLIS, Herbert Troy Ellis

It is with broken hearts and unimaginable sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Troy, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and loyal friend, who left this world far too soon.

Troy was just 55 years old when he was taken from us unexpectedly, leaving behind a world that feels dimmer in his absence. He was a man of deep love, quiet strength, and boundless generosity, the kind of person whose presence brought calm, whose laughter brought light, and whose love changed lives.

To his wife, Dj, he was more than a partner. He was her best friend, her anchor, her heart’s home. Their love was a quiet, constant force, tender and real, built on deep respect, shared dreams, and the joy of everyday moments. In each other’s arms, they found their truest selves.

To his daughter, Robyn, he was her hero, her greatest champion, her first love, her safe place. Though her time with him was heartbreakingly short, she will grow up wrapped in the legacy of his love, hearing the stories of his kindness, his silly, unmatched humour, and his deep devotion to her. Her nightly FaceTime calls were the highlight to end his day. She carries his spark in her eyes and his courage and strength in her spirit.

To his parents, Gail and Herb, he was a son who brought pride and warmth into their lives every day. The bond they shared was quiet but unshakable, built on mutual respect, deep affection, and a thousand small moments of love. No parent should have to say goodbye to a child, and the grief of his passing is a weight no words can carry.

To his brothers, Todd (Heather) and Trevor (Sandra), he was a lifelong companion, a teammate, a confidant, and a steady presence through every chapter of their lives. Their bond was full of laughter, mischief, deep loyalty, and the kind of love that only brothers understand. His absence will be felt every day, in every memory, in every unspoken glance between them.

For his nieces, Paige and Tamara, and his nephew, Luke, he was the fun uncle, always ready with a warm hug, a teasing smile, and the kind of attention that made each of them feel uniquely special. He showed up with his whole heart, birthdays cake smashes or simply time spent together. His influence will live on in their laughter, in their strength, and in the stories they’ll carry forward with pride.

His step children and grandchildren Chase and Marissa with Rhodes. Task and Falan with their two Lexton and Briggs. Tahlo and Shai with their eldest Kavi and Tevah. DJs daughter Rio and her husband Eli. He will be greatly cherished and missed as Papa Troy. DJs son Cruz will have a good companion in heaven. With Troy and Cruz’s quick witted humour and banter, oh those shenanigans will abound.

Troy lived a life rooted in quiet purpose and fierce love. He worked hard, gave freely, and never asked for much. His joy came from the small, sacred things: bedtime chats, Sunday family dinners at mom and dad’s, and the shenanigans with his brothers, whom he loved and never tired of the brotherly banter.

To know him was to feel seen and safe. To lose him is to feel a tear in our hearts that will bear a precious scar.

We will carry him with us, in every sunrise, every shared hysterical laugh, and all the quiet moments. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure far beyond his years.

In honour of Troy, may we love harder, be kinder, and never take a single day for granted.

Love you More
