ERNEST, Mark Edward Ernest

It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Ernest announces his passing at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham Campus on July 9, 2026, at the age of 67.

Born in London, Mark was the cherished son of Edward and Donna (née Simpson) Ernest.

Mark Edward Ernest was a proud and loving father to his daughters Jade (Nathan) and Shelby (Josh). He adored his role as Grandfather to Josephine, Alexis, Hazzel, Coen, Aspen, and Calliope. Mark will also be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mark spent his life bringing people together through his work as a chef, but his true language was music. He had an eclectic taste and a deep love for playing guitars, finding endless enjoyment in artists like Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, Tool, and Pearl Jam. He was also a passionate hockey fan, always enthusiastically cheering on his favourite teams, the London Knights and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He brought a wonderfully unique spark to everyday life-famously keeping a steady supply of orange popsicles on hand, and always enjoying the simple thrill of a scratch ticket or a Lotto 6/49 draw.

Donations made in memory of Mark to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
