It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gabriela Fiorini, who left us peacefully on October 19, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on April 27, 1961, in Capital Federal, Argentina, Gabriela was a pillar of love, strength, and compassion to everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife to Ricardo and a cherished mother to Sebastian. Gabriela was also a beloved sister to Miguel, Patricia, Cecilia, Gustavo, Martin, Marina, Tete, Jorge, and Guillermina, as well as a dedicated aunt to their children.
Known for her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit, Gabriela touched the lives of many. While she worked as a Quality Assurance Technician for many years, her true passion was teaching children Spanish. She was a leader in the Latin community in Durham region, volunteering to help those in need and organizing community events. Gabriela was also an active member of Hearth Place, a cancer support group, and participated in meetings until her last weeks to share her experiences and support others. Her beautiful smile, happy laugh, and warm hugs will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Gabriela’s life will be held on October 23, 2024, at 3:30 PM at Mount Lawn Funeral Home in Whitby, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hearth Place Cancer Support Center or Oak Ridges Hospice in her memory. For those unable to attend the service in person, a livestream will be available here.
