FLETCHER, Therese Marie Fletcher

It is with deepest sorrow, that we announce that Therese Fletcher age 81, of Woodstock, slipped away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026.

Therese Marie Fletcher was born in Saint John New Brunswick. She was very proud of her Acadian Heritage. She had a long career at Ecole Ste Marguerite Bourgeoys as a loving and devoted teacher and mentor. Therese was involved in many local clubs; Club Cartier, Club Hirondelle, Stratford Folk and Arts Council, The Catholic Women’s League and more.

Therese leaves behind 5 sisters; Jeanne (Clancy) of Country Harbour NS, Stella (late Harry) of Woodstock ON, Julia of Moncton NB, Lillianne (France) of East Collette NB and Leona (Lance) of Port Dover ON. And predeceased by 2 sisters; Alice and Lucy and 3 brothers; Louis, Arthur and Alyre.

She was the beloved wife of Gilbert Fletcher who predeceased her in 2013. Together they shared 4 children; Denise of Moncton, NB, Andrew of Ingersoll ON, Stacey (Maurice) of Woodstock ON and Melissa (Dan) of Stratford ON.

She leaves behind her grandchildren; Patrice, Kyle, Natasha, Wyatt, Daniel, Diana, Maxwell, Drew, Liam, Caitlyn, Audrey, Grace, and Stewart. And also, several great grandchildren. Therese will be missed by her longtime dear friend, Martin Nyland.

Therese was known as a true social butterfly; her laughter and enthusiasm brought joy to her family and friends alike.

The family wishes to thank the many caring staff at Woodstock Hospital and the CCU staff for their care and compassion.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Smith-LeRoy Chapel of the Glendinning Funeral Home Ltd., 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock, ON, on Saturday, April 11, 2026 between 10:00-10:45 a.m. A Liturgy will take place in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
