FODOR, Diana Rae Fodor
June 30, 1978 - January 27, 2026
She was born June 30th, 1978, in Sarnia, Ontario, passed away peacefully January 27th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Diana was a devoted wife to Aaron Squiers and a proud, loving mother, to her daughter Bronwyn and son Wyatt. Her children were the center of her world. She was the cherished daughter of Laszlo and Joy Fodor; beloved sister to Valerie Peacock (James); and loving aunt to Ryerson, Everett, Bee, and Preston. Diana was predeceased in death by her mother-in-law Bernadette Buszek, survived by her aforementioned relatives as well as father-in-law Tom Buszek; her sisters-in-law Kristine Squiers and Kim Squiers; her brother-in-law Anthony (Kana) Squiers; and many loving aunts and cousins. Diana had a lifelong love of soccer, playing most of her life in the Sarnia girls’ and women’s soccer leagues. Many of her fondest memories were made on the field, coached by her father, Laszlo. She accomplished a lot during her short life. She obtained her Masters of Social Work and travelled extensively through Australia and South East Asia. Professionally, Diana dedicated many years to working as a social worker. Her compassion, empathy, and unwavering commitment to helping others defined her career and touched countless lives. She approached her work with the same care and kindness that she showed to her family and friends. As her illness progressed so did her passion for nature. She loved rescuing Monarch butterfly eggs, watching the caterpillars develop into butterflies and then releasing them, setting them free. Diana will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her generosity of spirit, and her deep love for those closest to her. She was also known for spontaneity and love for life. She was an animal lover, which is shared with her children, and they have a house full of many pets. Her presence brought comfort and light to many, and her memory will be carried forward in the lives she touched and the love she leaves behind. Celebration of life will be held at the Smith Family Centre (in front of Smith Funeral Home), 1576 London Line, Sarnia, ON, Sunday, February 1st, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sarnia and District Humane Society.
