FOURNIER, James Melvin Michael Fournier

It is with great sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the tragic death of our beautiful baby boy, James.  James, only in his 19th month on earth, died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family. The overwhelming emotional pain, grief and deep sorrow that we will forever feel, is a testament to just how much this special little boy impacted so many lives in his incredibly short time on earth!

James Melvin Michael will always be lovingly remembered and terribly missed by his incredible parents, Michael and Allison Fournier (Hawkrigg) as well as his endlessly devoted big sister, Charley. James’s memory will forever be cherished by his grandparents, Wendy Fournier (Aba), Ron Fournier (Papa), Dagmar Burnell (Granny), Michael (Papa) and Rosemary (Mimi) Hawkrigg. Great Grandmother, Marilyn Hawkrigg, predeceased and welcomed with open arms by his loving Great Grandparents, Melvin Michael Hawkrigg, Peter and Gerarda Burger. James will always hold a special place in the hearts of his aunts, uncles and cousins, John and Chantal Phelps (Fournier), Adam Burnell, Sarah and Celina Gillis, Matthew and Elizabeth Ross (Hawkrigg), Courtney Hawkrigg and James Hawkrigg. Special cousins include Kayden, Oliver, Declan, Casey, Isla, Hudson, Finley and Katherine. James will also be sorely missed and was very much loved by many great aunts, uncles and cousins.

Although his time on earth was cut far too short, James had such an impact on every room he entered and every person he met. He had a smile that would melt your heart and was the sweetest, most loving little boy! Inquisitive, funny, athletic and always happy! James loved his mommy and daddy so intensely and adored and already looked up to his big sister Charley. James had recently just begun a very exciting and formative new chapter in his life at Dundas Valley Montessori School. It was there he was embraced by the wonderful staff and students with so much care and compassion at such a ripe young age. The skills and education he received in such a short time will always be treasured by his family!

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at KITCHING STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown where the visitation will continue on Saturday, March 7th from 3 p.m. until the time of the Service at 4 p.m. Reception for all will follow in the Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to the James Fournier Bursary at DVMS, James’ Montessori school, a very special place for him and his family.
