Nicolo Genco

February 4, 1938 – November 28, 2024

nicolo genco 300x287

In loving memory of Nicolo Genco, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 28, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on February 4, 1938, in Vita, Sicily, Nick lived a vibrant and full life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. At the age of 15, Nick and his family immigrated to Canada, following his father. A year later, Nick began his career in the sailing industry, working at Tom Taylor Marine Supplies. By 1964, he had founded Genco Marine, a family-run business he managed until his retirement in 2022.

Nick is lovingly remembered by his daughters Michelle Litterick (Brian Brooker) and Suzanne Cousens (John Cousens), his son Michael Genco, and his grandchildren Collin Litterick and Matthew Brooker. He is also survived by his brother Jim and wife Mandy, along with his cherished nieces and nephews. Nick’s legacy of kindness, entrepreneurship, and love for family will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

In memory of Nick, donations may be made to the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry.
