It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Allan Murphy, affectionately known as “Geordie,” on August 14, 2026. George was born on January 17, 1939, in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, to Janet Elizabeth McKay and Angus Francis Murphy.
George was predeceased by his brothers Mike, Herbie, Angus, Bernie, Billy and Huey, and his sister Joanie. He is survived by his sisters Margie and Marie, his biological daughter Sandra, as well as
many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
George will also be lovingly remembered by his stepdaughter Frances and her husband Gregory, who were by his side and supported him throughout his later years. George loved the simple things in life—watching his beloved Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs, reading his newspaper, listening to music, fishing, spending time at the trailer in Trenton, and being surrounded by family.
George was also reunited with Evelyn, the love of his life, who passed away in 2015. George will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.
