Katrin was born Nov. 15, 1966, in Stuttgart, Germany and died Feb. 25, 2025, peacefully at Halifax Hospital surrounded by sisters and brother-in-law. She had immigrated to Canada in 1998 and loved everything “Canadian”. She loved canoeing, swimming and hiking.

After 3 years in the Almaguin area she moved to Orillia until she set out on a new adventure to PEI in Dec. 2020. She loved her animals and made friends easily. We will be missing her sense of humour, her love of animals, her fearlessness and her generosity.

Katrin is survived by her mom Irene, siblings Christine, Ulrike, Matthias, Angelika, Matze and Ike, their families and many nieces and nephews and friends. We are grateful for her life and the time we had with her.

A celebration of Katrin’s life will be held at Christine and Volkher Lauffer’s home, 321 Pickerel and Jack Lake Road, Burk’s Falls on Saturday May 25, 2025 with a tree planting ceremony at 1:30pm. Please RSVP at 705-571-7100.
