GERHARDT, Norma “Joan” Gerhardt

Norma “Joan” Gerhardt passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was 90.
Born on March 23, 1935 in Guelph, Ontario, to the late Norman and Edith ‘Pearl’ (née Alexander) Horton. “Joan” became a registered nurse, and enjoyed a rewarding career working in hospitals and nursing homes. Joan met Lloyd Gerhardt, and they were married in 1958. They lived for many years on a farm in Normanby Township, where they enjoyed country living and raising their family. Joan was a simple lady, and enjoyed spending time with family, and was a proud grandmother to many. She will be missed.
Loved mother of Debbie (Dave) Broderick of Cambridge, Jim (Pam) Gerhardt of Flesherton, Barb (Tom) Gibson of Clifford, and Steve (Nicole) Gerhardt of Newfoundland. Special grandmother of 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her brother Bob (Lorraine) Horton of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and sister Carol Rossel of Elmvale. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd, daughter-in-law Laurie Gerhardt, great-great grandson Grayson Pereira, sister Hazel (Lawrence) Maas, and brother-in-law Keith Rossel.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 10:00–10:45 am, where a Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Pam McNiel officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
