It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Giuseppina at the Dundurn Place Care Centre on October 7, 2025, in her 89th year. Loving wife of the late Nicolo Giancani.
Born in Racalmuto, Sicily on July 20, 1937. Daughter of the late Luigi and Giuseppina Ippolito and daughter in law of the late Tommaso and Alfonsa Giancani.
She will be deeply missed by her sons Tommaso and Luigi, daughter-in-law Debbie and grandchildren Nick (Sonja), Josie (Rob) and Isabel.
Dear sister and sister-in-law of Graziella and the late Francesco Cannizzaro, the late Giuseppe and Angela Billone, the late Maria and Salvatore Campanella, the late Calogera (Lilla) Ippolito, the late Enrica Ippolito of Modica Sicily, Concetta Ippolitto, the late Salvina D’Alberto, the late Giovanni D’Alberto, the late Zia Maria Cino and her children Luigi and Concetta. The late Giocchino and Leonarda Giancani, the late Salvatore and Grazia Giancani, the late Calogero and Maria Giancani, the late Giuseppe and Anna Giancani, Giuseppe and Concetta Tirone.
Giuseppina was religious and spiritual woman. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved spending countless hours with her grandchildren and preparing delicious meals for her family.
She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Italy. Many thanks to all the staff at Dundurn Place Care Centre for all their care and compassion of our cherished mother and nonna.
Visitation to take place at the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel on Friday October 10, 2025 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Anthony’s of Padua Church on Saturday October 11, 2025 at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in Burlington.
