He was told he would be in a wheelchair by age 40. Being the strong person he was, Bob did not end up in a wheelchair, and instead had a long and fulfilling career of bowling.

Bob was a proprietor of two bowling alleys, one in Preston and one in Strathroy. He absolutely loved bowling, it was one of his greatest passions in life. He was one of the best bowlers in Canada, and won many awards throughout the years. He also won the Canadian Bowling Championship. He is in the Ontario Bowling hall of fame as well as the Cambridge Sports Hall of fame. Bowling was Bob’s life, he even played at age 86, and gathered together a group of friends from John Bayus Park to play in Brantford.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Preston Branch 126, (334 Westminster Dr N, Cambridge) on Saturday July 11, 2026 from 1-4 p.m.
