
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Roger Gingras, on May 7, 2025, in Victoria, British Columbia, at the age of 69.
Originally from Kapuskasing and a resident of Verner, Ontario, Daniel leaves behind his beloved wife Hélène Chayer, his daughters Marie-Soleil (Denis) and Sophie (Ryan), and his precious grandchildren Alexe, Mikaële, Brielle, and Caleb.
He is also mourned by his mother-in-law Jeanne Chayer; his sisters and sisters-in-law Louise (Michael), Denise, Vivianne (Dennis), and Louise (Barry); and his deeply cherished nieces and nephews: Jessica, Émilie, Jennifer, Anne, Katrine, Danelle, Trevor, Zakary, Henrick, Tessa, Nia, Liam, Lexi, Obi, and Maeve.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, Daniel was known for building sincere and lasting relationships, particularly with children, whom he nurtured with wisdom, kindness, and humour.
For over 20 years, Daniel worked passionately in philanthropy, spearheading community initiatives in Northern Ontario. He played pivotal roles in projects such as Health Sciences North, Place des Arts in Sudbury, and fundraising efforts for Collège Boréal and Maison McCulloch Hospice—leaving a lasting impact throughout the region.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Place des Arts in Sudbury. Guests are invited to wear bright colours to celebrate his vibrant life.
Donations in Daniel’s memory can be made to Place des Arts de Sudbury or the Vancouver Island Trail Association.
