Mabel Irene Wiebe

April 8, 1949 – December 12, 2025

Smiling woman holds small dog indoors.

She lived a life filled with deep love for her family and friends, guided by a truly generous, kind, and compassionate heart.

She was always caring for those she cherished—always ready to lend a helping hand, filling their days with laughter through her wonderful sense of humor, and sharing her many gifts.

Mabel was an exceptional baker. If making dough were an art, she had mastered it. She loved making pierogies and knitting countless sweaters and blankets, each created with love for family and friends. She would effortlessly prepare a five-course meal and then deliver it to friends in need—just because.

In her spare time, she loved fishing, spending summers at the cabin, playing bingo on Thursday nights, picking blueberries with friends, caring for her precious pups, and proudly beating Don at cribbage.

Above all, her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness and purpose.

She leaves behind countless memories of kindness, laughter, and love that her family and friends will cherish forever. She will be truly missed.

Mabel is now peacefully reunited with her husband of 56 years, Don Wiebe; her son Trevor; grandson Tearyn; her sister Bonnie; brother Gerry; and her parents.

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her son Calvin (Lynne); her grandchildren Taylen (Mike), Calista, Timea (Devon), Ella, Ava, and Daxe; as well as her siblings Hazel, Vera (Orval), Barney (Debi), daughter-in-law Kayleen, nieces, extended family, many dear friends, and dogs.

A private family celebration of life and scattering of ashes will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mabel’s memory to Memory in Miles, a charity close to her heart, through the Red Lake Chapel, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.
