GOLDEN, Kevin Dale Golden
December 5, 2025
It is with profound sadness that the family of Kevin Dale Golden announces his passing on December 5, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born on January 24, 1954, in Sudbury, Ontario, Kevin was the beloved son of Eugene Golden and Joyce Greenwood (Carlyle), both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his stepfather, Stewart Carlyle, whom he loved dearly.
Kevin was predeceased by his first wife, Wendy LeBlanc, and by his second wife, Carole Benner, both of whom held special places in his heart.
He was a proud father to Trevor Golden, Dale Golden, Salina McGoey (Mike McGoey), and Cassandra Golden-Peddle (Matthew Heavens), and stepfather to Judson Benner (Christina Benner), Jay Slaven, and Rhonda Misener (Scott Misener). His greatest joy came from his growing family, and he was a loving grandfather to many grandchildren and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Kevin is survived by his sisters, Colleen and Kelly, and was predeceased by his brothers, Terry, Leslie, and Gene. His siblings remember him as witty and stubborn, with a great sense of humor.
Those who knew Kevin will remember his kindness, his quick sense of humor, and the deep love he held for his family. He worked hard throughout his life and did his best to bring light and laughter to hard times, and love to his family. Kevin will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Matthews House in Alliston for the exceptional care and compassion Kevin received. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Cliffside Hall on Saturday December 13, 2025 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477. In lieu of flowers, donations to Matthews House Hospice would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.
God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him
and whispered, “Come with Me.”
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes “the best.”
