With great love and a touch of sadness, the family of Mary Greenfield share that she passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born in London, Ontario, on August 27, 1947, Mary was the eldest daughter of Gordon and Phyllis Linton. She made her home in West Kelowna, where she and her husband Bill Greenfield shared 36 happy years together and with whom she is now temporarily parted from.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her children Jason Gilfillan and grandchild Kaitlyn; Katrina (Lorne) Osborne and grandchildren Sam and Eli; and Marshall Gilfillan (Becky) and grandchildren Mackenzie, Austin, and Savannah. She also held a special place in the lives of her stepchildren Christina Mallett and Geoff (Vanessa) Greenfield, and their children Geoffrey Jr., Tyson, Brody, William, and Elsie. Mary will be fondly remembered by her sisters Marilyn (Keith) Savoline, Ruth (Dale) Stanton, and Retha Perkins.
She now goes to join those who passed before her, including her parents Gordon and Phyllis Linton; siblings Barbara and Lyle Linton; and grandchild, Morgan.
A bookkeeper by trade, Mary finished her career with Del Oro Towing, where her reliability and steady nature were deeply valued for 14 years. Outside of work, she lived simply and gave generously. She loved fishing and cooking & baking, and was known for sharing her homemade treats far and wide with friends, family – even the local gas attendants could count on a box of her baked goods. Last year alone, she gave out twenty-two boxes, each filled with kindness and care.
Those who knew Mary would describe her as giving, caring, loyal, and resilient – the kind of woman who met life’s ups and downs with quiet strength and a generous heart.
A Celebration of Life, will be held on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM (PST), at Potter’s House Community Church, 2221 Moose Road, West Kelowna, BC.
