It is with our heaviest hearts that we announce the passing of Charlie Grills, a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who passed suddenly at home due to a heart attack on his 80th birthday, April 19th, 2025.

Charlie’s love for life, sense of humor, and quick wit were just a few of the many qualities that made him unforgettable. His presence brought joy and laughter to all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain with us.

Charlie is lovingly remembered by his wife Eve; his sister Dorthy; and his children Denise (Mario), Kim (Rob), Kenny, Leesa (Jeff), Catherine (Lloyd), and Carrie. He was a proud grandfather to Cameron, Rebecca, Jenna-Lynne (Jonathan), Kyle (Amy), Maggen (Justin), Jo-Annie, Samuel, Sarah (Scott), Amanda (Brandon), Nick (Kas), Jordan, Dale, and Scott, and a cherished great-grandfather to Taylor, Kiera, Emma, Annika, Kyanna, Keith, and Kayden.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, Ontario. Friends and family are also invited to gather in Charlie’s honor on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at The Court Yard, 1437 King St E, Courtice, ON, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to raise a toast and share fond memories.

Charlie’s legacy of laughter, strength, and love will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
