HACHE, Joseph Romeo Yvon Hache

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Bluewater Health – C.E.E., Petrolia, Joseph Romeo Yvon Hache passed away at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Peggy Hache for 33 wonderful years. Loving father of Tracy Thomas (Vince) and Alison (Jeff) Wilkinson. Cherished grandfather of Brodie Sicard, Jaxon Wilkinson, Ethan Wilkinson and Haley Wilkinson. Treasured brother of Rose-Marie (the late Paul) Shoniker and Louise Lucier. Dear uncle of Patrick Shoniker and Mark Shoniker, Lise (Rob) Finlay and Lawrence Lousier. Great-uncle of Mary Shoniker, Calynne Finlay and Calvin Lousier. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Laurette Hache and by his sister Linda Hache. A true outdoorsman at heart, Von was happiest on the golf course or caring for his yard. He was a dependable and kind neighbor who never hesitated to help others, always putting their needs before his own—even until the end. He was a loyal and wonderful friend and always looked forward to his weekly outings with buddies. More than anything, he treasured time with his family and held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. with visitation held prior from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Cancer Society and Diabetes Association (cheques only at the funeral home please).
