HAGUE, Nina J. Hague

It is with broken hearts and sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Nina Hague on June 23, 2026, in Kelowna Hospice House after a valiant battle with cancer.

Nina lost her mother at the age of eleven, an experience and loss that influenced her deeply throughout her life. Sister Marie was tasked with assisting their dad in navigating her through the teen years.

Nina had a long career in communications, starting in 1981 as a bartender at the Good Queen Bess Pub in Harrison Hot Springs. After moving to Vancouver in 1991, she entered emergency communications, working as a 911 operator and dispatcher. She was all about connecting with people. She was a problem solver, empathetic, and caring.

Family was everything to Nina: she was devoted to her dad, living with him and caring for him until his passing.

While in Vancouver she met David, the love of her life; they married in 1997. Their home welcomed everyone, with David grilling and Nina the supreme hostess in the kitchen.

In 2011, while her sisters and friends were becoming Baba, Babushka, and Grandma, Nina received her own special name: On a multifamily vacation in Palm Springs, her three-year-old great-niece could not remember her name and called her Chichi. That became her special title.

2017 brought retirement and a move to Kelowna, BC. True to who they were, they created a warm and welcoming environment to family, friends, and neighbours.

Nina leaves behind her sisters Helen Freeman and Marie J. Edmondson, and numerous family members including The Hague Family.

Predeceased by her husband David, parents John and Mary, and sister Katherine Geyer.
