Susan was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Jane Hambly, and her brother, Paul Hambly. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Jane Hibbert and Jackie Hambly.
Throughout her life, Susan built deep and meaningful friendships that became a true source of strength, especially in her final journey. She will be profoundly missed by her closest friends – Paul and Paulette Wannamaker, Liz FitzGerald, Carolyn Milne, and Susan Murphy – whose unwavering support, love, and presence brought comfort and joy to Susan during even the most difficult times.
A cherished friend to many, Susan had a gift for uplifting those around her. Her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Even in her final days, Susan’s quick wit and wonderful sense of humour never faded – offering smiles and lightness to those by her side.
Susan was deeply grateful for the compassionate care and kindness shown to her by the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, whose gentle presence brought comfort and dignity to her final days.
A heartfelt thanks to Susan’s cousin Laura Tymchuk, whose care, support, and strength meant so much during this time.
Susan’s absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her, and her legacy of friendship, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family are kindly asking for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Oshawa Humane Society.
