HANCOCK, Jon David Hancock

It is with great sadness that the family of Jon David Hancock announce his passing on May 9, 2026, at the age of 81.

Jon was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Mabel Hancock. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 61 years, Jeanette; his children, David (Christa) and Kimberley (Rick); his grandchildren, Samantha (Cory), Mitchell (Nicole), Morgan (Matt), and Miranda (John); and his cherished great-grandchildren, Myles, Curren, Adaline, Liam, Koen, and Maxwell.

Jon was a gifted woodworker who could build just about anything he set his mind to. Many of the toys, furniture, and treasured items his children enjoyed growing up were lovingly handcrafted by him. He was never afraid to tackle any job or task, no matter how difficult, and was deeply respected by all who knew him for his skill, determination, and willingness to help others.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the ICU team at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville for their compassion, care, and for preserving Jon’s dignity throughout his time there.

In keeping with Jon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time.
