HARDIE, Thomas Joseph Hardie

Passed away peacefully at his home in Grimsby, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Barbara Anne for 69 years. Loving father to Mary-Jo Welch (Steve), Vicki-Lee Hardie, Cindy-Lou Foran (Peter), Lou-Anne Rideout (Floyde), and the late Anne-Marie Hardie. Proud grandfather of Patrick (Deanna), Tyler (Olivia), Kay-Lee (Peter), Christopher, Elizabeth (Travis), Katherine, Andrew, Laurel, William, Marren and Garrett. Treasured great-grandfather of Jack.

Tom will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his community as a proud member of The Knights of Columbus and Squires. He was passionate about his work in the steel industry where he spent his career as a locomotive engineer at Stelco. Tom will also be fondly remembered for his dedication to the Dodgers and the Montreal Canadiens whose jerseys and caps he wore with pride.

Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. with Prayer Vigil at 5:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church, 4106 Mountain Street in Beamsville, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. Burial at Queen’s Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby.
