EVANS, Helen Reta (nee TRINIER)  –   Helen, 83 years, of Pickering, Ontario, passed away February 1, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.

She was born on February 24, 1940 in Toronto to Elsie and Gerald Trinier.

She is survived by husband, George (married 66 years); her 3 daughters, Wendy (Marty), Jackie and Karen; 4 grandchildren, Mandee, Ryan, Lianne and Taylor; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She attended East York Collegiate and worked for Reader’s Digest as a sales representative.

She was an avid reader, loved gardening and enjoyed spending peaceful time at the cottage on Kamaniskeg Lake in Barry’s Bay.

She was a member of the Madawaska Valley Horticultural Society, Barry’s Bay Senior’s Club, The Pickering Notables Choir and the Durham Regional Police Choir.

A celebration of life will be held at Discovery Place Recreation Centre (1890 Valley Farm Rd.), on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.

A private interment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
