It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Vernon Hill. Bob was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, on April 11, 1939, and passed away peacefully in Kelowna, British Columbia, on June 24, 2026.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Elaine Hansen-Hill; Elaine’s son, Marc; and his three step-grandchildren, Emily (Adam), Jake, and Luc. He is also survived by his brother, Gerry (Shannon) of Calgary, Alberta, and their four sons and their families.

Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Merleen, and by his parents, May and Merle Hill.

Bob embraced life with enthusiasm and a warm heart. He enjoyed spending many winters in Arizona and found great pleasure in woodworking, lawn bowling, gardening, travelling, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. During their years together, Bob and Elaine shared a love of travel and created many wonderful memories exploring the world. They had recently returned from a memorable nine-week cruise through Asia.

Elaine and Marc wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff in the Intensive Care Unit, the cardiac and stroke teams, and the physiotherapists at Kelowna General Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness shown to Bob and his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honour Bob on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 1:00 pm (PDT), at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view in 3-5 days.
