It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin (Edi) Hofmann of Belmore, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31 in his 89th year, at Wingham Hospital, surrounded by his children.
Predeceased last year by his beloved wife Marlis Hofmann (née Wild), and devoted father of Anita of Belmore, Nancy (Bob) of Ottawa, Daniel (Karina), and Patrick (Mario) of Sydney, Australia.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Aiden and Heather McGarrie of Ottawa. Fondly remembered by his sister Trudi of Switzerland. Predeceased by his parents Edwin and Anna Maria (née Moergeli), and his sisters, Marei, Nelly, Irmy, and Elsi.
After a private funeral service, we invite our community of friends to join us at a come-and-go Celebration of Life at the Belmore Community Centre, on Saturday, August 9 from 2 to 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Belmore Community Center (with checks payable to the Township of Howick) would be appreciated. They reflect and support Edi’s dedication and passion toward his community, and especially his love of the local Curling Club.
