Dorothy Jean Inkster

August 20, 1956 – October 2, 2025

Person sitting outside in chair, green background

Her niece Jenny Litke (Mike V), her nephews Stewart Honsberger and Steve Honsberger (Jen T), and her beloved great-nephews Justin, Derek, David, and Garrett, and great-niece Ava. She will also be deeply missed by her friends and neighbours, and especially by her long-time faithful companion, Bilbo the cat.

Dorothy was a quiet, humble, kind soul—always willing to give more than she received. Fiercely devoted to the people and memories she held dear, she lived with strength, grace, and resilience. She fought through four battles with cancer over the past 15 years, each time showing incredible determination. Though she often felt the weight and unfairness of her diagnosis, she clung to hope and the gift of life with remarkable courage.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre. Hearth Place was a source of refuge, compassion, and unwavering support for Dorothy throughout her journey, and their kindness in her final days will always be remembered with gratitude. Special thanks to the nursing and PSW staff of 4F at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa for their care and tenderness with Dorothy in her final days. A private Celebration of Life will be held in the spring for close friends and family.

Dorothy’s presence will be dearly missed but forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
