KING, David Crawford King

Passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2025. Born January 8th, 1943 in Toronto, Ontario to his loving mother, the late Jessie King. David was a devoted father, husband, and lover of all things sports.

David was a sports fan and an avid athlete his entire life, growing up playing and watching baseball and hockey in Toronto as a youth and teenager. He competed at high levels in both sports, and he carried on his competitive nature into adulthood, playing competitive squash. It was playing squash that led him to meet his wife, Valerie at the Delta Squash Club in Mississauga. David and Valerie wed in October 1988 and raised two boys and David’s greatest accomplishments, Kevin and Christopher.

David was not only competitive as an athlete, but in business – and leaves behind many colleagues from Green Forest Lumber, The Weyerhaeuser Company, Taiga Building Products & 84 Lumber that made a very meaningful impact on his life.

David is survived by his wife of 37 years Valerie, sons Kevin & Christopher as well as countless friends whose lives were impacted by his presence. He is predeceased by his mother, Jessie King.

Plans for a Celebration of Life will be sent out privately to friends and family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation in David’s memory.

David’s generosity, understanding, kindness and love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those that knew him.
