KRAUTER, John Stephen Krauter

At the Sault Area Hospital, with his family by his side on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the age of 72.

Loving husband of Marie Krauter. Cherished father of Ted (Maggie), Crystal (Wayne), Kevin (Rachel), the late Keith (Jen) and Kasey. Grandfather of Autumn (Thomas), Dakota, Keira, Madison, Evan (Casey), Sarah (Spencer), Cody, Mathieu (Missouri), Jarret, Teagan, Ivorie (Jerry) and Ayden.

Predeceased by his parents Esther Krauter and John Krauter (Claudette). Brother of the late Kimberly Sanderson (Ian) and Phillip Krauter (Donna). Brother-in-law of Mary, Harold, Harry, Nile and Kenny. Uncle and friend to many.

After many years, Steve retired from Algoma Steel. He decided that he was too young to fully retire, so he studied and became a bookkeeper and completed income taxes for many clients. He loved to learn and was an avid academic. He loved his family and to travel and see new things, he especially loved the East Coast. He enjoyed photography and putting hours and miles on his motorcycle, as well as baseball and hockey, going to the Greyhound games when he could. Steve loved animals, his dogs, Pepper, Abigail and his cat Winston ‘Football’.

Family and friends are invited to O’Sullivan Funeral Home on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:30-12:30 for Visitation.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sault Area hospital for the care given to Steve.
