LANNOZZI, Rita Albertina Iannozzi

On Friday, July 3, 2026, Rita Iannozzi (née Caschera), sadly passed away surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 89. Her last six months were difficult after she battled a lifetime of hernia complications. Rita was the loving and beloved wife of Cataldo (1931 – 2010), and the devoted mother of John & his wife Rosanne and the late Frank (1963 – 1999).

Rita Albertina Iannozzi will be dearly remembered by the grandchildren she loved so much, Michael and Christina & her husband Carter DeAngelis. She will be missed dearly by her nieces and nephews in the Sarnia area: Anna & Frank Brennan, Rita D’Andrea, Ben Iannozzi, and their families. Rita was born in Isola de Liri, Frosinone, Italy to Felice & Carolina Caschera. Despite the distance, Rita adored and remained close with her family in Italy. She was the affectionate sister of her four brothers: the late Angelo and Umberto, and Mario and Attilio.

Rita arrived in Canada with Cataldo in 1961 in search of a better life for themselves and their future kids and grandkids. She was an incredible cook and would share her delicious pasta, homemade panini buns filled with rapini and crotonese, and coniglia with everyone. But it was her “ciambelle” that truly were the best on earth. She always made sure all who stopped by were happy and well-fed. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and person. We will love and miss her always. Following her wishes, Rita was interred privately surrounded by her close family. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the St Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia (cheques only at the funeral home please).
